Welcome to My Artistic Journey
Welcome to my blog! Here, I share my artistic journey, inspirations, and personal life as an artist in Liverpool. I hope these posts resonate with you and offer a glimpse into the world behind my canvas. Feel free to explore, engage, and connect with me.
New Years Eve, December 2025
"Hi there! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I also celebrated my 33rd birthday (yes, 33rd!). Wow, officially an adult now—such a millennial thing to say, right? Haha!"
It's been almost two months since my last blog post, and life has definitely settled down a bit. Recently, I took part in a 90s-themed photoshoot in Liverpool City Centre with the Giz A Word team for one of their fantastic visual exhibitions. (If you're not already following them on Instagram, you should check them out!) The photos are up on my socials, and they turned out fabulous! On the home front, we've fully settled into our new place with our little crew of animals—two dogs and a cat keeping us on our toes.
Lately, my social media team has been working hard behind the scenes, while I’ve been channeling my energy into creating new landscapes and experimenting with a few still-life pieces. This past year has been tough in some ways, especially after losing my cousin last Christmas. Through my grief, however, I felt inspired by her presence and came up with something close to my heart: integrating ashes into art—both for loved ones and pets. It’s such a deeply personal and sensitive idea, and I was nervous about how it would be received. But after sharing a video introduction and some posts online, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support from friends, family, and collectors all over the country. Hearing how many people found the concept 'beautiful' truly means the world to me. I’m so excited to see where this journey will take me next.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with health, happiness, and abundance!
Blessed Be, and Namaste.
Love, Gary xoxo
November 2025
"So, where do I even start with my first blog post? This year has been WILD! I packed up and left Liverpool (aka the best city in the world), and wow, it still feels weird to say that. Don’t get me wrong—it’s just a 40-minute drive towards Manchester, but let’s be real, it’s not Liverpool. Moving away from friends and family was tough, but I absolutely LOVE where we’ve ended up. Gorgeous walks everywhere, great bars and restaurants, and the people? So friendly—it’s a vibe."
The year kicked off with a bang! Fresh off the back of my first-ever Solo Show in December, I moved into an art studio in Liverpool City Centre with an amazing group of local artists. The energy there was incredible! On top of that, I got featured in international exhibitions—TWICE in New York (literal dream come true!), plus Vienna, Budapest, Portugal, and a bunch of places in the UK. A couple of podcasts and magazine interviews too. It was all go, and I was loving every second.
Then spring rolled in, and we got hit with some bad news—the landlord decided to sell the City Centre studio. Gutted. But hey, silver lining—it saved me some cash! I mean, it was super handy for storage and working on bigger pieces, but I’d already set up a little home studio, so I just brought everything back and kept cracking on. Not long after, I was featured in my first publication of the year, and then another one shortly after. Honestly, I’m always so grateful when a journalist or publication wants to feature me—it never gets old seeing my work in print! I even spotted one in the supermarket—I was so excited I started showing random shoppers, like, “LOOK! It’s me!” (as if they cared, haha). But yeah, obviously, I bought the first copy I laid eyes on. Later in the year I co-hosted a special exhibition in LUSH, Liverpool & was nominated for Creative Industry Person of the Year 2025- it felt so warm and fuzzy to get that recognition for the hard work I'd done the past year, like the mental health talks and workshops I hosted.
I started a new job where I actually feel valued, and it’s been such a breath of fresh air! But before jumping into that, I had surgery on my eyes. Yep, I’ve been rocking glasses since I was 2 years old, but it was time for a change. Of course, some people had to chime in with their opinions, calling it ‘vain’ or ‘a waste of money.’ Like… are you paying for it? No? Cool, then zip it. Why do people always have something to say about stuff that doesn’t even concern them? It’s always the ones with their own mess going on, isn’t it? Anyway, I travelled to Manchester and then to Birmingham for the surgery, and between healing, changing jobs, and moving house, life was FULL-ON. But I powered through."
Now, I’m finally settled in the new home and loving my new job. I feel ready to dive back into creating, and I have a vision—it’s going to be so calm and peaceful. Okay, life’s still a bit hectic—kind of like an ad for caffeine, nicotine, and stress relief—but hey, we keep it moving. Also, I’ve got a social media manager now (fancy, right?), so my website and Insta are looking all polished and ready for what’s next. If I go off-grid for a bit, don’t worry—I’m just cooking up something magical."
Blessed Be, Namaste.
Catch you soon!
G xoxo
